What Will You Give This year?

This Holiday session, we have been reading the book, "The Elves and the Shoemaker."  This book tells the story about a poor shoemaker who receives a special gift from tiny "elves!"  The elves anonymously make the shoes while the shoemaker is asleep!  When the shoemaker discovers the elves, he and his wife make the little elves some clothes for presents.  They each gave the other something they needed.    I have witnessed the many gifts you have given your children through my teaching years at WeJoySing. These gifts are a necessity for them to become happy, independent adults.  Little Simone (pictured getting a la-la on her belly) had been struggling with the COURAGE to receive our infamous "La-las."  Her mother informed me that she had been working to help Simone with her self-confidence.  When Simone came to get her la-la on her belly, (of all places!)  she turned and said, "Mommy, I "corageous!!!"  We all celebrated!

Another gift you've given your child is the gift of PLAY.  In class, your focus is PLAYING with your child through music using circle games, literature, and instruments.  These activities build your child's creativity and various developmental skills.  Children LOVE to play games.  You can see that in the other picture where the children are watching me spin the dreidel!

Most of all, I've delighted in watching you give your children the best gift of all....LOVE.  The way you dance with them, sing with them, and play with them sometimes brings me to tears.

I need to thank YOU for all the gifts you have given ME as a teacher for WeJoySing.  The hugs, the kisses, the smiles, the friendships we have built and the LOVE we share have blessed me especially this year.  From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you.  You and your children are truly one of the best gifts I've received.  I can't wait to see everyone in the Winter!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year!

Love, Mrs. Lynnette
